Funds 2021: Common mortgage £ 20 / week to proceed for one more six months
The government increased the universal credit standard allowance by £ 20 per week last year in response to the coronavirus pandemic. For example, the monthly payments for single people aged 25 and over have increased from £ 317.82 to £ 409.89.
This was supposed to end on April 6th, but Mr Sunak announced today that support will continue for an additional six months following campaigns from charities and others.
In addition, tax credit applicants receive equivalent support for an additional six months. Due to the nature of the tax credit, these applicants will not receive a weekly payment, but will receive a one-time payment of £ 500. We don’t know any more details yet, but we’ll update this story as soon as we know more.
