NHL is knocking out Sabers and rescheduling video games to February eighth
The Buffalo Sabers are on a COVID-19 hiatus and have postponed the games – four – to February 8, the league said on Tuesday.
Additionally, the team's training facilities were closed until further notice after Taylor Hall and Rasmus Ristolainen were added to the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.
Buffalo's two games against the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins – all on the go – have been postponed. The Sabers are expected to host the Washington Capitals on February 11th.
The movements follow after the Sabers' two home games against the New Jersey Devils at the weekend. New Jersey's Travis Zajac missed the game on Saturday after being put on the COVID log list and striker Kyle Palmieri didn't play on Sunday and was added as well.
On Monday, the NHL closed the Devils' games until Saturday when four more players were added to the protocol. As of Tuesday, the Devils have 14 players on record.
"Sabers players and staff have carefully followed, and will continue to follow, the COVID protocols established by the NHL and the team's medical staff. Our organization will continue to work with the league and our medical team for health and to ensure the safety of our players and employees, "the Sabers said in a statement.
